Shepherd’s Little
Flock is a non-profit daycare supported
by the congregational budget of Shepherd
of the Hills, donations, fundraisers,
and tuition. The Early Childhood
Ministry makes policies, hires staff,
and oversees the operations of the
daycare and reports to the council and
congregation of Shepherd of the Hills.
Shepherd’s Little
Flock began as a preschool program in
2000 and has evolved into a full daycare
facility with an educational preschool
program. We are licensed by the state
of Tennessee for 48 children, ages 8
months to 5 years. Our center has the
highest rating
(3 star) issued by ITERS and ECHERS of
TN.

Our facility has 3
separate rooms.
Toddlers, ages 8 mo. to
2 years are together with 2 teacher
assistants and 10 children. The
transitional room includes 16 children ages 2 to
4 and 2 teacher assistants. The preschool has 18
children,
ages 4 to 5 and 2 teachers. We
participate in the Federally Funded Food
Program and our children receive 2
snacks and a nutritious lunch each day.
The staff is lead by
our director Sabrina Gunderson. She has
an associate’s degree in Early Childhood
Education and has operated her own
daycare in MI, and has been the
director at SLF since Nov. 2005.
Our staff has been trained in First Aid
and CPR and is required to have at least
18 hours of early childhood training
yearly.
The preschool
curriculum includes educational
opportunities for children to grow
socially, emotionally, spiritually,
physically, musically, and
intellectually. Kindergarten readiness
skills are taught and practiced,
especially for the 5 year old.

God continues to
bless the efforts of many as we serve
Him and the community of Crossville. We
believe in His desire to “let the little
children come unto me” as we “go and
teach and make disciples of all
nations”.
